Your first voyage

Start by learning how your vessel responds before taking on a demanding job. The official game presents a maritime world built around piloting working ships, exploring, and completing varied missions. Treat the opening trip as a chance to become comfortable with steering, speed, and approaching a port.

Choose early contracts

Look at the available job type and destination before leaving harbor. Cargo, rescue, and patrol work ask different things of your ship. Pick a manageable route, then learn the harbor and mission flow before taking on longer journeys.

Know the full-release unlocks

The September 2026 full-release update moved fast travel to level 1 and crew to level 2. Some early-access guides still show later unlock levels; check that a guide is written for the full release before following its progression advice.

Try co-op when you want company

The official game site describes co-op for up to four players. You can learn the basic handling solo, then invite others for longer voyages or shared mission work.

Questions

What should I learn first? Get comfortable with your ship and the first short contract, then check the level 1 and level 2 unlocks.

Are old unlock charts reliable? Only if they explicitly reflect the full release. The official update changed both early milestones.
