Fast travel unlocks at Level 1 in the September 24, 2026 full release. The official update log confirms the new milestone, but it does not document every button and destination rule. The exact interaction sequence for a fresh save is 待确认.
What changed in the full release
The full-release notes moved fast travel earlier in career progression, alongside a separate change that makes crew available at Level 2. Older early-access guides may still show a later unlock, so check the version date before following them. The official notes are the source for the current Level 1 milestone.
Finding the travel option
Open the sea map and inspect the travel options visible in your current save after reaching Level 1. The release notes also mention a corrected PC prompt for placing waypoints and a fix for fast travel in multiplayer. Those notes do not establish a universal key binding or prove that every map location is a valid destination. Exact controls, eligible destinations and any mission restrictions are 待确认.
Career level and reputation
The Career Update replaced the earlier experience-point system with reputation earned through harbours and missions. Local standing contributes to global progression, while the full release rebalanced several requirements. That history explains why a guide written before the Career Update may describe a different route to a numbered unlock. It does not change the full-release note that labels Fast Travel as a Level 1 feature.
If your save shows a reputation screen rather than an old XP display, use the current career interface to interpret the milestone. Do not assume that the level number in an early-access screenshot maps directly to your present save. The official changelog does not state whether old saves are migrated to the new unlock in exactly the same way as fresh saves. Save migration behavior is 待确认.
Fast travel during missions and co-op
The December 2025 patch fixed a Chapter 2 mission that could cancel after fast travel, and the September 2026 release improved fast travel for multiplayer clients. Both notes demonstrate that mission and session context can affect this system. They are historical fixes rather than a list of current restrictions. If a mission is active, compare its objective with what the map permits before assuming travel is always safe.
The Co-op Crew Update also recorded an earlier issue where the sea map had to be closed manually after fast travel. That entry belongs to an older known-issues list, so it should not be presented as a confirmed full-release bug. If it appears in your current build, the relevant details are platform, mission and session role. A current reproduction has not been verified here.
If fast travel does not work
First check your career level and game version against the full-release update. Then distinguish a missing feature from a route or mission-specific restriction, because the official log does not say that all destinations are always available. For multiplayer, the full-release notes specifically report improvements to client-side fast travel behavior. A current reproduction of a particular failure is 待确认.
Sources and limits
The official update log supports the Level 1 unlock and the multiplayer fix. It does not provide a complete step-by-step tutorial for every platform. This page therefore gives the verified unlock first and leaves unverified inputs clearly marked.
